With 24 hours to digest- more like cough up- the Sarah Palin endorsement of Carly Fiorina over TEA Party candidate (and Reagan conservative) Chuck DeVore
below is my take on the announcement.

Here's a hint: Follow the money.

That collective gasp that you hear is either the sound of Chuck DeVore supporters reacting to Sarah Palin's endorsement of Carly Fiorina, or it is the sound Palin fans in Calif jumping off her bandwagon...or perhaps both.

Funny how Palin- who traveled the nation with the TEA Party Express- can overlook the ONE TEA Party candidate in the race- DeVore- and endorse his opponent.

Even more peculiar is how she called Fiorina "the common sense conservative", which begs the question: If Ms. Palin believes Fiorina is the one with common sense, then what does that make Chuck DeVore and the thousands of TEA Party members who support him?  Angry white racists?

That aside my belief is that Sarah Palin took the money- figuratively and perhaps literally- and ran.

Remember The TEA Party Express which recruited and trotted Sarah Palin across the country like their prized trophy, is NOT really an authentic grass roots TEA Party organization.

As I have discussed on my radio show the TEA Party Express is funded, founded and organized by a Political Action Committee out of Sacramento which acts as a fundraising arm for the republican party...The very same republican party that is backing Ms. Fiorina.

Unfortunately the TEA Party Express- which organizes rallies across the country by calling on unsuspecting AUTHENTIC grass roots TEA Party members to join in- IS THE ASTRO TURF which critics accuse the entire movement of being.

Instead of joining in on the TEA Party principles and values- the GOP has created a vehicle to be used to exploit the TEA Party movement.

While the GOP is feeling fat and sassy this morning with the endorsement of their astro turf candidate by their prized trophy, they may have overlooked one big problem.

You can't fake authenticity.

If conservative, libertarian and independent voters in California are disenchanted with the list of candidates who advance on June 8th, I predict they will either stay home in large numbers in November or a populist 3rd party movement will emerge.

Either way bad news for the GOP.

And as they say, as California goes so goes America.

God bless Chelsea King's family and the heavy heart they will carry for the rest of their lives.

Understanding that nothing can be done to return Chelsea to her family, the search for justice and accountability is about to begin.

Also about to begin is the blame-game to be played out very likely between the SDPD and the SD County Sheriff's department.

Now that we know evidence existed back on Dec. 27 linking the defendant, John Gardner III a registered sex offender, to an attempted rape attack on a female jogger in same park where Chelsea was murdered, someone in law enforcement must be held accountable for lack of follow through.

The attacks occurred on property under jurisdiction of the County Sheriff's department. The December 27th evidence was turned into the SDPD, according to comments made by investigative reporter Kim Dvorak  on my show Tuesday night.

Chelsea's untimely death must also force elected officials to re-visit Megan's law and the inexcusable loophole it affords registered sex offenders.

Specifically, the fact that a registered sex offender is only required to report the address of their primary residence and not the actual address where they are  physically residing.

God bless the people of Chelsea's hometown of Poway, CA who have shown up in thousands to provide support and relief for the grieving family.

With the sweet after taste of  Massachusetts still lingering in the mouths of conservatives, the question du jour is "how will the Scott Brown victory effect races elsewhere?"

 

This much is clear:

 

*Both parties are losing power


*Independent voters and grass roots activist (TEA Party) are gaining influence

 

*It is better to be viewed as an outsider

 

*It is not good to be seen as part of the establishment (did you notice that while Obama stumped for Coakley, Michael Steele and Newt Gingrich were nowhere to be seen in Mass?)


In this issue we offer a few observations and opinions on select races of interest, plus other stories on national security you may have missed.

Fiorina Exits Out the Back Door

The great thing about authenticity is you know it when you see it. It is a hard thing to fake.

 






Recently during a speaking engagement at the San Diego County Republican Party monthly meeting,  U.S. Senate hopeful Carly Fiorina spoke of the parallels between herself and Scott Brown and of understanding the angst felt by voters.

When her speech ended  and it came time take questions- something which had been highly anticipated, and is customary at such meetings- to the dismay of those in attendance she smoothly ended the evening and exited out the back door avoiding all questions.


Her handlers were left behind to clumsily explain "she had a plane to catch". 

 

All of which may be fine when you are a CEO meeting with obligated employees whose paychecks you sign,  but to voters who have grown weary of the disconnect and arrogance of those in Washington, it was seen as more of the same.


Contrast that with the hard working Chuck DeVore who has been known to criss-cross the state and speak at multiple TEA Party events in the same day, not shy away from taking listener phone calls on radio talk shows and has developed a reputation of being

unscripted, unrehearsed, and willing to speak to anyone at anytime.

All Politics Is Local

Massachusetts Effect On San Diego Sheriffs Race

Some say Bill Gore makes Al Gore look comfortable in his own skin.
 

Bill Gore- Appointed as Sheriff by San Diego's Board of Supervisors and favorite of the party establishment.


Bill Gore, like him or not, there is no denying he is the favorite among the republican party establishment. He represents the appearance of back room deals, the good ole' boy's club...everything independent voters are against in this election cycle....

...But when it comes to backroom deals in San Diego's Sheriff  race, Gore is not alone. Jim Duffy shares the distinction with his complete and unwavering support of  big labor ...so much so...that he received an A+ rating from the labor council.  This includes SEIU who shares office space with the notorious ACORN....

...Jay LaSuer has received the endorsements of the Independence Caucus, Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Phoenix and the ever-popular retired congressman Duncan Hunter.  He is a frequent attendee at TEA Party events, has built an impressive grass roots following and is not beholden to any special interest groups.


On the question of the Massachusetts effect on San Diego Sheriffs Race:

Advantage LaSuer...but only if he seizes the moment and ties his opponents to their relationships with special interest groups, party establishment and back room deals.


Candidate Bruce Ruff also enjoys the same opportunity as LaSuer but he must first demonstrate an ability to raise money, build a grass roots following and quite "snarling" in public appearances.  He's a much friendlier person than the public persona he often portrays.

National Security

Insurgents Accuse Soldier, Soldier Charged

Cpt Carl Bjork- A Bronze Star recipient, he now faces a court martial stemming from accusations made by enemy insurgents.










Bronze Star recipient Cpt. Carl Bjork- 28 years old of Denver, CO- has been referred for a court martial hearing based upon accusations made by enemy insurgents. The insurgents- who claim he ordered civilians killed- are being held as prisoners by both the U.S. and Iraq governments.

What is not known is what exactly the insurgents were promised by prosecutors in exchange for their testimony.

What is known is their testimony varied greatly from one insurgent to the other.

Corey Clagett Clemency Hearing Scheduled

Wrongly imprisoned soldier 24 year old PFC Corey Clagett continues to serve time at Ft. Leavenworth prison.







Clagett was advised by his JAG attorney to plead guilty of murdering two al Qaeda members who he had taken as prisoners, depsite the fact co-defendants in the case had already taken full responsibility for the deaths.  Corey was never advised of their admission, even though his attorney was fully aware.

30 year old Captain Carl Bjork of Denver, CO- who last served in Iraq 3 years ago- has been sent back to Baghdad to face charges of premeditated murder.

The WITNESSES: 3 IRAQI INSURGENTS held as detainees.

His attorney Victor Kelly leaves for Baghdad shortly. Kelly joins me today on 'Inside the Story' (4pm EST, 1pm PST) with the exclusive details.

Victor Kelly is the very same attorney who previously successfully defended Cpl Trent Thomas (The Pendleton 8 case) against insurgent allegations of premeditated murder.

Largely unaware to the American public is the fact that, there are a record number of American soldiers who are currently serving prison time or are defending themselves against serious allegations of wrongdoing... guilty of nothing more than doing their jobs in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I received the following email below from an Iraqi refugee regarding her experience with Bernard Kerik.

How one acts during times of crises- I'm sure we can all agree- speaks volumes about a person's character. I have purposely edited out the sender's name.

Also, I have joined Geraldo Rivera's cause to demand that judge Stephan Robinson remove himself from Commissioner Kerik's trial.

Email Received From Iraqi Refugee:


"Hello Rick,

My name is (   ), Iraqi citizen. I was working with the US government in Baghdad-Iraq.  working for Mr. Bernard Keirk who was the senior adviser and work with the US Embassy in Baghdad.

I flee Baghdad because I got a threat and stayed in Jordan thinking it will be peace soon.

My Ex (husband) didn't let me speak with my kids and deprived me from them by any communication . then my son was kidnapped for 8 days.

I can't tell you how I felt that time......
My son was released by paying the ransom. my story was written in the New York Times.

I stayed for Three and a half years in Jordan.
Mr. Kerik contact me by email and phone and was willing to help me in my bad situation.

My daughter was in Syria and my son was in UAE with his father. I was hopeless and depressed but Mr. Kerik helped and encourage me to go and try to get my daughter and let her enter Jordan.

No Iraqi citizen can enter the Jordanian border at that time.
He let me see my daughter after 3 years and I was so happy for the reunion.

We apply and we are here in the US as a refugee.

He was a good boss, good friend, faithful ,hero, has a white heart, and a human being who cares about others.

I appreciate him and grateful to him as long as I will live.
I wish I can do anything to help him.

As a side note:
Judge Robinson revoked Commissioner Kerik's bail (same judge scheduled to oversee the Nov. 9th trial) when it was discovered  that Mr. Kerik had passed information favorable to his case to the media (such an atrocity!)...based upon an introduction I had made between Bernard Kerik and an investigative journalist.

Free Bernard Kerik:  Demand Judge Remove Himself !!

Bernard Kerik risked his life for this country in Iraq. He was there when the Towers went down. Now he receives treatment worse than that of a murderer.









How many times have we seen this before? An overzealous prosecutor, an ambitious federal judge and all the power, might and unlimited resources of the U.S. government brought against an individual?

Can you say 'Ramos & Compeon' or Ted Stevens?  How about Duke lacrosse?

Former NYC Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik is an American hero whose rights to a fair trial are being trampled upon -once again- by an over zealous prosecutor and federal judge.

Bernard Kerik has been sitting in jail since October 20- WITHOUT BAIL- while waiting for his November 9th trial!

Murder suspects routinely receive bail! Once again something stinks rotten here.

Previously  an 18 month investigation in 2005 into allegations against him produced NO EVIDENCE of his guilt. Now the government is after him again.


The judge's decision to deny Kerik bail began when he passed information favorable to his case to the media (such an atrocity!)...
after an introduction I had made between Kerik and The Washington Times.


It is time for federal Judge Stephan Robinson- the same individual who revoked his bail and is also scheduled to oversee his Nov. 9th trial- to do the proper thing and remove himself from the trial.


TAKE  ACTION:

Each month we would take the show live-on-the-road in front of a large Southern California audience...and highlight the issues and  key candidates who most represent core conservative values.

Press Club Awards Show 1st and 3rd Places


San Diego, CA- Last month the San Diego Press Club announced 'The Rick Amato Show Presented by The Washington Times' was to be awarded an 'Excellence In Journalism Award' at its' upcoming October 20th awards ceremony.

Last night at the annual 36th annual ceremony The Rick Amato Show received 1st and 3rd places for best interview in talk radio.

The winning interview centered around the use of drugs with known drastic side effects- such as suicidal behavior- by the VA in treating wounded War On Terror veterans.

The guests were Audrey Hudson of The Washington Times (who broke the story) a whistle blowing veteran and House Chairman of the VA, Congressman Bob Filner (D-CA).

Shortly after the interview Congressman Filner called a congressional hearing on Capital Hill which resulted in changes at the VA and its' procedures.

The SD Press Club judge comments were: "An important and shocking story. Because of this show change was affected and possibly lives were saved. The reaction of the congressman was priceless".

Bill Gore:  It has been suggested to me (by a member of the SD County Board of Supervisors) that former FBI agent Bill Gore doesn't "feel comfortable" working within the culture of the Sheriff's department..."and in fact doesn't even look comfortable in uniform".

Jim Duffy Scores 'Perfect' with Organized Labor.
Organized labor recently asked Sheriff candidates to complete a questionaire on various issues. 

Candidates could answer '0' for strongly disagree or '5' for strongly agree.  Duffy answered a '5' on 100% of the questions, meaning he 'strongly agreed' with labors position ON ALL QUESTIONS ASKED.
