As many of you know 2010 is a critical election year for conservatives at all levels of elected office. 

Each election year poses its' own set of challenges but 2010 is especially so given the blatant bias and vested interest the mainstream media has shown recently in promoting its' liberal ideology and pet candidates.

...As such 'The Rick Amato Show' is giving consideration to launching the "Great 2010 Conservative Comeback Tour"...

Each month we would take the show live-on-the-road in front of a large Southern California audience...and highlight the issues and  key candidates who most represent core conservative values.

...Along the way we would raise voter awareness, get people fired up, hear what is on the minds of voters...and have some fun while we're at it.

But we will only do this if there is widespread interest among those of you out there.

Press Club Awards Show 1st and 3rd Places


San Diego, CA- Last month the San Diego Press Club announced 'The Rick Amato Show Presented by The Washington Times' was to be awarded an 'Excellence In Journalism Award' at its' upcoming October 20th awards ceremony.

Last night at the annual 36th annual ceremony The Rick Amato Show received 1st and 3rd places for best interview in talk radio.

The winning interview centered around the use of drugs with known drastic side effects- such as suicidal behavior- by the VA in treating wounded War On Terror veterans.

The guests were Audrey Hudson of The Washington Times (who broke the story) a whistle blowing veteran and House Chairman of the VA, Congressman Bob Filner (D-CA).

Shortly after the interview Congressman Filner called a congressional hearing on Capital Hill which resulted in changes at the VA and its' procedures.

The SD Press Club judge comments were: "An important and shocking story. Because of this show change was affected and possibly lives were saved. The reaction of the congressman was priceless".

Guest Host of The Rick Amato Show, Gayle Falkenthal, received third place for her interview of Craig Newmark founder of CraigsList.

Notes & Comments from San Diego Sheriff's Race


Bill Gore:  It has been suggested to me (by a member of the SD County Board of Supervisors) that former FBI agent Bill Gore doesn't "feel comfortable" working within the culture of the Sheriff's department..."and in fact doesn't even look comfortable in uniform".

As for me, based on the photo alone I think the Board of Supervisor member has a point.



Jim Duffy Scores 'Perfect' with Organized Labor.
Organized labor recently asked Sheriff candidates to complete a questionaire on various issues. 

Candidates could answer '0' for strongly disagree or '5' for strongly agree.  Duffy answered a '5' on 100% of the questions, meaning he 'strongly agreed' with labors position ON ALL QUESTIONS ASKED.

Those who know Andrew Breitbart personally have always known he is a bright, talented guy with lofty goals who thrives on being ahead of the curve. Out to push the envelope as they say.

To do what he has done, as a self-employed entrepreneur working out of his west L.A. home, in exposing ACORN and sending shock waves through the entire democratic party...is itself an incredible story.

But his brilliance does not end there. It is in his planning and preparation.

You see Andrew understands the democratic party/mainstream media strategy playbook calls for attacking the messenger- while ignoring the message- (see Joe the Plumber, Sara Palin and others) and to intimidate by filing lawsuits.

Except as Andrew writes this week in his  Washington Times column, this time it's different:

 You can't ignore the message when the message is the smuggling of 13 year old El Salvadorean girls into the country for prostitution.

As for the threat of lawsuits don't you know Andrew is just licking his chops.

Should a suit come to be, it is his opportunity to subpoena ACORN's books forcing them to finally open up their accounting records for the world to see.

And all the while he generates tons of well earned, valuable publicity for his business websites Breitbart.com, BigHollywood.com and the latest launch BigGovernment.com.

Sonic Weapons In San Diego Gets National Attention

We have been reporting for a couple weeks now about the deployment of military sonic weapons (known as LRAD's) by San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore at two town hall meetings on health care in August.

The story was first broken by Miriam Rafferty of East County Magazine and asked of Gore at our Sheriff candidate debate by journalist Kim Dvorak of Examiner.com.

Now The Washington Times has picked it up and made it afront page/home page feature story on their website. The Times will be doing a series of investigative pieces.

The real question to ask ourselves is: Is this an appropriate weapon for U.S. local law enforcement to purchase and use with grant money made available by the DHS?

Worth Noting:
* The weapons can cause eardrums to burst, bleed and even cause death

* There is no regulatory oversight. Anyone with money who doesn't raise suspicion from the manufacturer can purchase it.

* The manufacturer's SEC documents state: "There is the possibility of lawsuits from misuse and improper training."

* Manufacturer's documents also state: "They are designed to influence the behavior and compliance of humans."

During the debate, when asked why he deployed the LRAD's at Town hall meetings on health care, Bill Gore said it "was a crowd dispersal tool".

Two days later he told local media outlets it was a "PA system to be used during fires or floods."

We're still not sure which he was expecting at the town hall meetings? The fire or the floods?

 Michelle Obama and Her Staff of 26

This is a story of arrogance in government and hypocrisy of the mainstream media.

Kim Dvorak reports that Michelle Obama has a staff of 26 personal assistants underneath her, costing taxpayers $1.75 Million in annual salaries!

A ridiculous amount anytime time, but especially so in this economy.

Of course the very same mainstream media that accosted Sara Palin for her wardrobe budget during the campaign have completely ignored this story.

'America's Sheriff' Joe Arpaio is coming to San Diego to attend a rally on behalf of San Diego Sheriff candidate Jay LaSuer.
