Bernard Kerik risked his life for this country in Iraq.










I received the following email below from an Iraqi refugee regarding her experience with Bernard Kerik.

How one acts during times of crises- I'm sure we can all agree- speaks volumes about a person's character. I have purposely edited out the sender's name.

Also, I have joined Geraldo Rivera's cause to demand that judge Stephan Robinson remove himself from Commissioner Kerik's trial.

IF YOU AGREE, you can TAKE ACTION  by contacting Judge Robinson's Deputy Clerk  at  (914) 390-4178....and demand he do the honorable thing by removing himself from the case. Let's continue to flood his phone lines.


Email Received From Iraqi Refugee:


"Hello Rick,

My name is (   ), Iraqi citizen. I was working with the US government in Baghdad-Iraq.  working for Mr. Bernard Keirk who was the senior adviser and work with the US Embassy in Baghdad.

I flee Baghdad because I got a threat and stayed in Jordan thinking it will be peace soon.

My Ex (husband) didn't let me speak with my kids and deprived me from them by any communication . then my son was kidnapped for 8 days.

I can't tell you how I felt that time......
My son was released by paying the ransom. my story was written in the New York Times.

I stayed for Three and a half years in Jordan.
Mr. Kerik contact me by email and phone and was willing to help me in my bad situation.

My daughter was in Syria and my son was in UAE with his father. I was hopeless and depressed but Mr. Kerik helped and encourage me to go and try to get my daughter and let her enter Jordan.

No Iraqi citizen can enter the Jordanian border at that time.
He let me see my daughter after 3 years and I was so happy for the reunion.

We apply and we are here in the US as a refugee.

He was a good boss, good friend, faithful ,hero, has a white heart, and a human being who cares about others.

I appreciate him and grateful to him as long as I will live.
I wish I can do anything to help him.

As a side note:
Judge Robinson revoked Commissioner Kerik's bail (same judge scheduled to oversee the Nov. 9th trial) when it was discovered  that Mr. Kerik had passed information favorable to his case to the media (such an atrocity!)...based upon an introduction I had made between Bernard Kerik and an investigative journalist.

Free Bernard Kerik:  Demand Judge Remove Himself !!

Bernie Kerik
Bernard Kerik risked his life for this country in Iraq. He was there when the Towers went down. Now he receives treatment worse than that of a murderer.









How many times have we seen this before? An overzealous prosecutor, an ambitious federal judge and all the power, might and unlimited resources of the U.S. government brought against an individual?

Can you say 'Ramos & Compeon' or Ted Stevens?  How about Duke lacrosse?

Former NYC Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik is an American hero whose rights to a fair trial are being trampled upon -once again- by an over zealous prosecutor and federal judge.

Bernard Kerik has been sitting in jail since October 20- WITHOUT BAIL- while waiting for his November 9th trial!

Murder suspects routinely receive bail! Once again something stinks rotten here.

Previously  an 18 month investigation in 2005 into allegations against him produced NO EVIDENCE of his guilt. Now the government is after him again.


The judge's decision to deny Kerik bail began when he passed information favorable to his case to the media (such an atrocity!)...
after an introduction I had made between Kerik and The Washington Times.


It is time for federal Judge Stephan Robinson- the same individual who revoked his bail and is also scheduled to oversee his Nov. 9th trial- to do the proper thing and remove himself from the trial.


TAKE  ACTION:
Flood the Judge's Phone Lines.

Press Club Awards Show 1st and 3rd Places


San Diego, CA- Last month the San Diego Press Club announced 'The Rick Amato Show Presented by The Washington Times' was to be awarded an 'Excellence In Journalism Award' at its' upcoming October 20th awards ceremony.

Last night at the annual 36th annual ceremony The Rick Amato Show received 1st and 3rd places for best interview in talk radio.

The winning interview centered around the use of drugs with known drastic side effects- such as suicidal behavior- by the VA in treating wounded War On Terror veterans.

The guests were Audrey Hudson of The Washington Times (who broke the story) a whistle blowing veteran and House Chairman of the VA, Congressman Bob Filner (D-CA).

Shortly after the interview Congressman Filner called a congressional hearing on Capital Hill which resulted in changes at the VA and its' procedures.

The SD Press Club judge comments were: "An important and shocking story. Because of this show change was affected and possibly lives were saved. The reaction of the congressman was priceless".

Bill Gore:  It has been suggested to me (by a member of the SD County Board of Supervisors) that former FBI agent Bill Gore doesn't "feel comfortable" working within the culture of the Sheriff's department..."and in fact doesn't even look comfortable in uniform".

As for me, based on the photo alone I think the Board of Supervisor member has a point.



Jim Duffy Scores 'Perfect' with Organized Labor.
Organized labor recently asked Sheriff candidates to complete a questionaire on various issues. 

Candidates could answer '0' for strongly disagree or '5' for strongly agree.  Duffy answered a '5' on 100% of the questions, meaning he 'strongly agreed' with labors position ON ALL QUESTIONS ASKED.

Sonic Weapons In San Diego Gets National Attention

We have been reporting for a couple weeks now about the deployment of military sonic weapons (known as LRAD's) by San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore at two town hall meetings on health care in August.

The story was first broken by Miriam Rafferty of East County Magazine and asked of Gore at our Sheriff candidate debate by journalist Kim Dvorak of Examiner.com.

Now The Washington Times has picked it up and made it afront page/home page feature story on their website. The Times will be doing a series of investigative pieces.

The real question to ask ourselves is: Is this an appropriate weapon for U.S. local law enforcement to purchase and use with grant money made available by the DHS?

Worth Noting:
* The weapons can cause eardrums to burst, bleed and even cause death

* There is no regulatory oversight. Anyone with money who doesn't raise suspicion from the manufacturer can purchase it.

* The manufacturer's SEC documents state: "There is the possibility of lawsuits from misuse and improper training."

* Manufacturer's documents also state: "They are designed to influence the behavior and compliance of humans."

During the debate, when asked why he deployed the LRAD's at Town hall meetings on health care, Bill Gore said it "was a crowd dispersal tool".

Two days later he told local media outlets it was a "PA system to be used during fires or floods."

We're still not sure which he was expecting at the town hall meetings? The fire or the floods?

 Michelle Obama and Her Staff of 26

This is a story of arrogance in government and hypocrisy of the mainstream media.

Kim Dvorak reports that Michelle Obama has a staff of 26 personal assistants underneath her, costing taxpayers $1.75 Million in annual salaries!

A ridiculous amount anytime time, but especially so in this economy.

Of course the very same mainstream media that accosted Sara Palin for her wardrobe budget during the campaign have completely ignored this story.

The crowd was estimated to be as large as 1500 people at its height. Among pre-debate speakers who were crowd favorites: US Senate candidate Chuck DeVore and San Diego native son Steve Baldwin.

New York's Inter Continental Hotel is making arrangements to host Iranian President Ahmandinejad at an upcoming UN General Assembly meeting.

Several other New York hotels have succumbed to public pressure and have refused to accept Ahmandinejad, while the Inter Continental -so far- has ignored public requests.

As I've often said conservatives are losing the pop culture war in America and we each need to take the time to educate the younger people in our lives on what it means to be a conservative.

Most younger people have the wrong idea about being a conservative- thanks to Hollywood, the media and the dems- but when educated on the virtues of limited government, greater individual responsibility and fiscal conservatism...their minds open up.

This past week I was asked to speak at a fund raising event for a 22 year old GOP City Council candidate in Palm Springs, CA.

The candidate's name isDrew Sweatte and don't be fooled by his age. He is articulate and mature beyond his years and in fact has even received a national endorsement from Tom DeLay of Texas. Pretty impressive for a local race in California.

While attending the event I witnessed small business owners, such as Jesse the owner of SnipSnipBuzz barber shop, self-employed taxi drivers  and others who were outraged and vocal at...what else...the arrogance and interference of local government into their affairs.

They were there to vent their anger, voice their frustration and to support a 22 year old GOP candidate who spoke about smaller government, job creation and the re-energizing local economy.

Expose the younger people in your life to conservatism and when given the opportunity, support their campaigns.

Win, lose or draw in the Palm Springs City Council race I predict we will be hearing of Drew Sweatte for years to come.

Newsweek Correspondent Launches New Website
Southern California based Newsweek correspondent Jamie Reno is launching a new non-partisan site called TheRealStories.com.  Reno is an award winning journalist known for his investigative work into post 9-11 events. In particular, his discovery of a group of Saudi's who lived in San Diego and provided both financial and logistical support to two of the hijackers. The Saudi's returned safely home after 9-11 and were never seriously investigated by the FBI, according to Reno. You can HEAR MORE here.

This past week former NYC Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik joined me as my guest on 'Inside the Story' (see below).

And while the scope of our conversation focused mainly on items of national security I couldn't help but wonder if we will someday soon learn that Kerik is too another example of a life turned upside down due to an over-zealous prosecution?

Too many examples come to mind: Ted Stevens of Alaska, Ramos and Compeon, Duke Lacrosse, PFC Corey Clagett and the Pendleton 8...just off the top of my head.

Kerik has been indicted on charges of making false statements to White House officials vetting him for the position of Department of Homeland Security secretary.

Similar charges were previously brought against him in New York but were dismissed. Now the jurisdiction is in Washington. This is the third prosecution against him based on the same allegation.

Time will tell but if recent history has taught us anything, it is that the government must always be challenged vigorously whenever it brings allegations of wrongdoing.

Deputy Sheriff Association Endorses Jim Duffy.
San Diego County Sheriff Candidate Jim Duffy picked up a key endorsement recently from the Deputy Sheriff Assoc.

Duffy now becomes the second candidate to garner a major endorsement as Jay La Suer, as previously announced, received the crown jewel of endorsements (among conservative voters) in Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona.

As a reminder I will be moderating a debate among Sheriff candidates on Sept. 12th at the El Cajon Civic Center as part of the East County TEA Party event.  I look forward to seeing all my San Diego friends there.

To date all candidates except Bill Gore have confirmed their participation.  We are optimistic he too will join us.
